HIFU
WHAT IS HIFU?
High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that utilises ultrasound energy to tighten and rejuvenate the skin and subcutaneous tissue.

By targeting deep layers such as the dermis and SMAS (Superficial Muscular Aponeurotic System), it stimulates collagen production, tissue remodelling, reduces wrinkles and sagging while improving facial contours.

ABOUT LIFTERA
Developed by Korean medi-aesthetic leaders Asterasys, Liftera is a TGA approved (ARTG #393230) medical-grade device which delivers non-invasive treatments for skin tightening and permanent fat reduction.

HIFU delivers focused ultrasound energy to specific depths within the skin layers, typically targeting the dermis and SMAS layer, which is the same muscle group that is tightened during surgical face lifts.
HIFU heats the tissue at the target point of 60°C to 70°C , creating focal points of thermal injury known as thermal coagulation points (TCPs). These temperatures create spaced wounds and cellular friction – this action then promotes the body’s natural wound healing response to stimulate rapid collagen and elastin production, healing, and immediate contraction of the tissue.
This non-surgical lifting technology enhances HIFU with precise, powerful treatments that tighten, lift, smooth, and sculpt the face and neck.

Liftera combines precision, power, and performance for painless, rapid HIFU face and neck lifting, along with jaw and chin sculpting.
Using exclusive Thermal Diffusion Treatment™ (TDT) technology, Liftera effectively directs heat energy into the skin, offering powerful results and a more comfortable experience compared to traditional HIFU.

ARE THERE IMMEDIATE RESULTS?
HIFU is an innovative technology that delivers dramatic results in as little as 3-5 sessions depending on the area being treated.
Immediately after the treatment, you may notice that your skin is firmer and its texture is lifted.

The full effect of the treatment generally takes around 12-weeks, and you will continue to see a dramatic improvement in facial contouring, and a visible reduction in fine lines and wrinkles over this time.

WHAT DOES THE HIFU TREATMENT FEEL LIKE?

Your therapist will begin by thoroughly cleansing your skin, then carefully marking the treatment area with a white eyeliner pencil to ensure that sensitive spots and major nerves are avoided throughout the procedure.
Next, ultrasound gel is applied to the treatment area. While it may feel cool at first, it becomes soothing once the energy or heat is activated.
As the treatment progresses, you may experience a mild pin-prick sensation, warmth, or tenderness in areas like the jawline, lower neck, and lower cheeks. However, your therapist will work with you to adjust and manage any discomfort during the session.

HOW LONG DO I HAVE TO WAIT BETWEEN SESSIONS?

There will be 3-5 HIFU treatments in total. The first 3 treatments must be spaced 4-6 weeks apart (8 weeks for mature skins as their rate of healing may be slower). The 4th and 5th treatments are to be spaced 6 months apart for clients under 50 years old. For clients in their 50's or older, the 4th and 5th treatments should be spaced 3 months apart.

Depending on individual needs and responses, touch up treatments may be needed approximately every 6-12 months.

The suggested number of treatments may vary between individuals and areas.
